This user field allow users to set their avatars from service of gravatar.com
Gravatar (an abbreviation for globally recognized avatar) is a service for providing globally-unique avatars which was created by Tom Werner.
note: Gravatar is fetched from gravatar.com, copied into the server and set as avatar, so if you change your gravatar image, you'll have to set your gravatar from edit_profile.php again
